ArchiPro in ChatGPT and Claude: privacy
Last updated 12 October 2026
This page explains what happens to your information when you use ArchiPro in ChatGPT, where it is the ArchiPro plugin, or in Claude, where it is the ArchiPro connector. Both search ArchiPro's directory of design and building professionals, products, projects and articles in New Zealand, Australia and the United States, and both connect to the same server of ours. You don't need an ArchiPro account to use either.
It adds to our privacy policies for New Zealand, Australia and the United States, which cover everything else we do, including our websites. In New Zealand, "ArchiPro" and "we" mean ArchiPro Limited. In Australia, they mean ArchiPro Pty Ltd. In the United States, they mean ArchiPro Marketplace, Inc.
What we receive
When you ask ChatGPT or Claude something it can answer with ArchiPro, the assistant decides what to send us. We receive:
- the search words and filters the assistant chooses, such as "kitchen designers" and a place name like "Auckland";
- which country's directory to search;
- the web address of a listing, when the assistant asks for that listing's details;
- the web address of a professional's page, when the assistant asks for that professional's phone number or addresses;
- a place name like "Christchurch", when the assistant asks for a professional's addresses in that place.
The assistant may include words from your question in a search, so leave personal details such as your street address out of what you ask it to search for.
ChatGPT also attaches some details to each request: your approximate location, your language, the app you're using, and random identifiers that OpenAI creates for your account, conversation and organisation. We don't use, pass on or keep these details.
Claude attaches fewer details to the connector's requests: which Claude app sent the request, and random codes that Anthropic uses to trace its own requests. It doesn't attach your location, your language or an identifier for your account. We don't use, pass on or keep these details either.
We only check which assistant sent each request, so links to our websites, usage records, and records of phone numbers and addresses shown, can say so.
We don't receive the rest of your conversation, your name or your email address. ChatGPT sends its requests from OpenAI's servers, and Claude sends the connector's requests from Anthropic's servers, so we don't see your IP address. Nothing we receive is linked to an ArchiPro account.
If you connect Claude Code to our server yourself, by its web address, Claude Code sends its requests from your computer instead. Cloudflare, our network provider, then receives your IP address and passes it on to our server, which doesn't use or keep it. Claude Code also attaches its version and a random identifier for each search or lookup, but not your location, your language or an identifier for your account.
When ChatGPT or Claude shows results as cards, your browser loads the photos straight from our websites, as it would on a visit. Our websites then receive your IP address and browser details, and their privacy policy applies. The cards make no other requests and contain no tracking.
How we use it
- To search ArchiPro's directory and send the results back to the assistant.
- To give the assistant a professional's phone number when it asks for one: the number their page on our website shows. We record that the number was shown, which professional it belongs to, which assistant asked and the time, as our websites do when a visitor views a professional's number. The professional's statistics can count it. The record doesn't identify you.
- To give the assistant a professional's addresses when it asks where they are: the locations their page on our website shows, or only those in the place the assistant names. We record that the addresses were shown, which professional they belong to, which assistant asked and the time, as our websites do when a visitor views a professional's address. When only one location was shown, the record also names that location, with its suburb and city, which may be the place the assistant asked about. The professional's statistics can count it. The record doesn't identify you.
- To keep our server working and protect it from abuse.
- To count how ArchiPro is used in assistants. For each request we record which kind of request it was, such as a search, which assistant sent it, whether it came through the ChatGPT plugin or the Claude connector, the country, the time, how long it took and whether it worked. These records don't include what was searched for, and don't identify you.
Who else receives it
- OpenAI receives the results when you use ChatGPT, because they go back into your ChatGPT conversation. OpenAI's privacy policy covers what ChatGPT does with them, or, if you use ChatGPT through your work, your organisation's agreement with OpenAI does.
- Anthropic receives the results when you use Claude, because they go back into your Claude conversation. Anthropic's privacy policy covers what Claude does with them, or, if you use Claude through your work, your organisation's agreement with Anthropic does.
- Our service providers process requests on our behalf: Amazon Web Services, whose servers in Sydney run our server and our search service; Cloudflare, our network provider, which handles traffic in data centres around the world; and Datadog, which monitors our website and our server, and stores its data in the United States. Our privacy policies explain how we protect information that goes overseas.
- We don't sell what we receive, or share it with advertisers or for targeted advertising.
How long we keep it
- Our server doesn't store what it receives. Our search service keeps the search words and filters in its logs for up to 30 days, then deletes them. Nothing in those logs links a search to you.
- When the assistant asks for a listing's details or a professional's phone number or addresses, our website's monitoring may keep a record of which listing was looked up for up to 30 days.
- Our server, and the load balancer in front of it, log each request: when it arrived, the web address it was sent to, which assistant or browser sent it, which kind of request it was, whether it worked, how long it took, and any errors. These logs never include what was searched for, and are kept for up to 30 days.
- The usage records and records of phone numbers and addresses shown above can't identify you, so like our other statistics, we may keep them indefinitely.
Links to our websites
Results link to pages on our websites: archipro.co.nz, archipro.com.au, or archiproamerica.com for results from the United States. The links carry tags that tell us a visit came through an AI assistant, which one, and whether it came through the ChatGPT plugin or the Claude connector. The tags don't identify you or your conversation. When you open a link, the privacy policy for that website applies.
A link to a professional's own website may go through our website first. If it does, our website records the click for the professional, as it does when you click that link on our website. It then sends you on to the professional's website. As on our website, that link carries an identifier for your browser. The privacy policy for our website covers this step.
Your choices
You can stop using ArchiPro at any time by disconnecting it in ChatGPT's settings or in Claude's connector settings.
We don't link anything we receive to you, so we can't find your searches to give you a copy or delete them. Search logs are deleted after 30 days.
In the United States, depending on your state, you may have rights over your personal information, such as to know what we hold, to have it corrected or deleted, and to opt out of its sale or sharing for targeted advertising. Our United States privacy policy explains them. To use them, email privacy@archiproamerica.com. To opt out of sale or sharing, you can also use our Your Privacy Choices page, which needs no account.
